Transformative mindset coach and licensed mental health counselor Noor Pinna shares that the best ways to get to the other side of a life-shattering experience are (1) to practice self-compassion; (2) to allow two things, such as pain and joy, to be true at the same time; (3) to keep a sense of humor; (4) to remember that change is constant; and (5) to create boundaries that are based on your values. Noor learned these lessons as a result of being abandoned by her father and being sexually abused as a child.
